Wow!! What a day we(God & I) had today! I got up this morning at 5 which means I really slept in because normally I am up by 3:15 - 3:30am. I got dressed for church and stopped by the church to check the AC to make sure they were on. I ended up helping Pastor get a few things together for the church dinner today.
I then went to the hospital where I volunteer to check on things and see if they needed Pastoral Care in the various areas. I spent several minutes in the Maternity area giving the nurses and staff a hard time and trying to cheer/wake them up. Then I went to the Emergency Room and talked to a few there. I went to another floor where a nurse stopped me and wanted directions to our church so she could come next Sunday night when she gets off work.
I left and went to church and came back and I always go to the Maternity Area first so as not to spread germs to the newborns. When I got there they said they were glad to see me and that they needed me real bad. The VP of the hospital asked the nurses who I was and they explained that I came in most weekends when things were busy and helped with Pastoral Care. The VP pulled me aside and told me what was coming down right then and she told me that I had to stay and help the staff to handle the crisis. She told me you are not going anywhere for awhile you are staying right here with us. So I stayed in the Maternity area talking with the staff and the head pediatric doctor for the hospital to help them with the trauma of triplets that were premature by several weeks and were also "crack" babies with "homeless" parents.
Things happened and questions were asked and I was able to help settle things down and make them to realize that it was great that they were able to save the babies. All of their training and experience paid off and they were able to get the job done! I also reminded them that after they have done all they can do that they have to rely on a higher power to make it all come together and life to come into the baby
They thanked me for being there and asked me to see about setting up some chapel services for the staff on a regular basis. Pray for me as I work on this new development this week!
